Hello, friend. Thank you for visiting my website. I am a pretty ordinary guy from Lewistown, a small town in Central Pennsylvania. I am a teacher by profession. I started off with an interest in teaching at the elementary level and earned an undergraduate degree in elementary education. After teaching junior high math and science at a Christian school in Arlington, Virginia for three years (and meeting and marrying my wife, Amy, a preschool teacher), I went back to school to earn graduate degrees in educational psychology, with specializations in learning, cognition, and instruction. These degrees opened the door to the field of higher education, where I spent about thirty years as a professor and administrator in teacher preparation programs at several colleges and universities.
Amy and I are now happily retired from our professional careers and busy pursuing our interests and running after grandchildren! I enjoy flyfishing, growing elderberries and blackberries, raising guinea fowl, and working on our old farmhouse. But my real passion is music! I love playing music, arranging music, and planning musical events. A couple years ago, I began writing faith-based children’s songs. At this point, I have written more than a dozen songs, and there are still more rolling around in my head just waiting to come out!

Performance
Recently I began to make myself available to play taps for funerals with military honors. There are not many “live buglers” out there to play taps for military funerals, and often recordings need to be used. I have connected with the Juniata County Veterans Council. When they have a funeral with full military honors, they get in touch with me, and I provide “live” taps following the gun salute. I never served in the military, but I have enormous respect and gratitude for those who have served. Playing taps for military funerals is one small way I can show my gratitude and support for the men and women who serve our country in the armed forces.
